Philip Nash Design is currently in the project management phase of the installation of their landscape design for this flagship Contemporary family home by Huf Haus.
It has been a privilege to design the landscape to compliment this beautiful one of a kind building. Works have ranged from the “floating” terrace and feature gabion walls, to beautiful steel and stone staircases rising out of the landscape, and the landscape extending from the house to the banks of the Thames. Environmental considerations of flooding had to be taken into account in all design solutions / materials used; due to the close proximity to the River.
Block planting is bold in its simplicity: Swathes of purple and grey lavender and grasses surround the house; beautiful mature willow trees now grace the banks of the river and Blocks of Betula utilis ‘Jacquemontii’ punctuate the landscape with strong, elegant, white trunks, especially prominent in winter.
Currently the thames river-side mooring is going in and the final step is the resin-bound drive and front gates to complete this prestigious project.
‘Transformational and exceptional. Philip Nash and his team have elevated our Huf Haus development into a space that is not only visually stunning, but also fully integrates the internal with the external. The ‘floating’ terrace, steps and planting have created a wonderful design that is stunning. We are so pleased. Philip is both visionary and dedicated, but remains pragmatic to achieving the aim. He also engineered a great team to implement the project. It is difficult to think of the build without him on board.’
